Murillo Classic 2011

The MOB rode the Murillo Classic 2 Day Gymkhana at Circle D Horseman’s in Vacaville Sept. 24th and 25th.

We had a great time.  We were able to take 7 horses thanks to Peggy, who loaned us her 4 horse trailer.  The MOB worked in the arena helping set events.  Jan wrote times in the booth.  We kept the horses at Ashley's house.  Thank you Ashley.  Jody took us to a Chinese restaurant for really good food Sat. night.  We had a great sleepover at Tara's apartment and had surprise cake to celebrate Jan's birthday.  Sunday it rained but just enough to get wet and then stopped.  Sabrina and Carly brought drinks and snacks on Sunday.  And Christine came out to support her sister, Justine and her first Gymkhana.  We had late lunch at Murillo's as we left town and headed home on Sunday.  Thanks for sponsoring the great awards.

Chloee and Frencie entered in the lead line and rode like a star.  Chloee is working on recognizing when the horses start to get worried and wanting their friends and how to redirect attention back to the job at hand.  Chloee and Frenchie won daily Hi-point for the lead line division.

Judy and Frenchie entered in the FC division and did very well.  There were some new experiences like a little bucking fit that Judy rode through with no worries.  And the cows in the field next to the arena that kept Frenchie on high alert.

Jan brought Baby for his first outing in a while as he has been recovering from a lameness issue.  Baby was excited to be out and would rather hang out with the group then stand tied to the trailer.  But he did both just fine.  And Jan worked with him throughout the days on improving his direction following skills.
