Notes From Around the Arena
April 17th -23rd, 2012
Spring Break Camp was wet! We had a great time learning to care for the horses and check for illness and give vaccinations. As Tara said, "wow that was way easier then I thought it would be".
Health care is one of the things I value most that I am able to teach. It was cool to see how brave you all are to take a horses temperature and give a shot. Nice Job, Jamila, Hadi, Luna, Danielle, Chloee, Tara, Maddy and Clair.
The D'Alonzo show went very well for Rocky! He is settling in to the idea and even place 2nd, 3rd, & 4th, out of 4 to 6 horses. Nicely done Clair! The time and patience you have put in is showing.
I had Ocho at the show for the weekend, working on separation anxiety and direction following. I spent like 4 hours grooming and bathing him. He is looking better and better.
Mighty Pharaoh was amazing! And we really put him to a test this weekend. We set him to really get in there and perform. And he did, and we also found what we need to work on. So fun to see his little project evolving. He was beautiful in the jumping.
Clair and Pharaoh took the daily high point for 14-17. And are currently still in the lead for the series high point for 14-17. And to our excitement, closing the gap on the Jumping series high point, our little dynamite duo is holding onto reserve. Nice job Clair.
The next D'Alonzo show will be May 12th & 13th.
We will start the Gymkhana season in Clements, this weekend, April 20, 21, 22. Please be sure to get your fees in to me by Wed., the 18th.
