Notes From Around The Arena
June 5th - June 10th, 2012
Skyline Show in Napa Sunday June 3rd 2012.
Wow what a wonderful day! Great weather! Not so hot like the last couple days. It was a light turn out for rider count which made for a more personal focus. We saw friends from the past like Katrina Kay, Cindy and Alexis Solakian. Great to chat and catch up.
It was super fun to hear them talk about Rocky and their memory of what fun it was to go to the Bureau of Land Management round up. And how we go to adopt that cute little wild horse. He was just 8 month old. The stable named him Reno back then. And now to see him out there winning in a line up of 9 or so horses. We were all so impressed and proud to see him come so far. It was fun to hear Cindy wish she had not let him go after all.
Chloee had a marvelous day with Sierra. The pair were quite and focused on the days task. This day was so different then the last show where it was all Chloee could do to get through three classes, this time she rode every class she entered and placed in 5, and won a gift certificate for a free Cold Stone Ice cream. The judge even told Chloee that through the day she could see Chloee and Sierra improving.
Katrina and Zen had a very nice day. And Zen turned out so pretty in pink, so she could be matcher's with Rocky. Katrina won two classes and posed a constant threat with 5, 2nd place wins.
Clair and Rocky tried their hand in the English classes and Rocky really shined. In fact he out shined his western performance. Rocky and Zen battled it out for a Cold Stone Ice Cream gift certificate and Rock was the victor, while Zen was the proud runner up. Rocky placed very well in almost every class and was called for reserve in some really big classes too.
And you guessed it we pulled up camp about 3:00 and went to Cold Stone for Ice Cream. The music they were playing was great and several time we (the adults) broke out in song. Much to Clair and Chloee's embarrassment.
Thank you all, I had a really great day.
Good riders, Good friends, good music, and ice cream
