How I see it.
Wow, we had a super show. Deryn was on hand taking lots of photos.
Judy and Frenchie started us off with a go in the halter classes. Frenchie was so upset to be separated from her friends she was calling and fidgeting all about. Judy did a great job managing Frenchie in her fits. The next class was so much better as Frenchie began to recall what being at a show was about. And Judy got better at setting boundaries and did a very nice job showing for the judge. Judy rode the walk jog western classes and Frenchie kept up the jog nicely. And Judy did two Lope class and they went great! Judy came home with an armful of ribbons. And won her trail class. Nice job Judy.
Tara and Zen joined in the show fun, riding in the walk jog classes and was hot on Judy and Frenchie's heals in the placing line up. Also bringing home an bushel of ribbons. And took reserve in the trail class. Zen got a little worried in a class or two when she realized her friends were not in all the same classes. But Tara rode her bravely. And showed her beautifully.
Rocky was very good in his western classes and placed top of the line up consistently. Reining was still a challenge but his transitions improved over the last show.
Pharaoh also did well and had more questions regarding speed and direction following in the reining classes. The one hand riding is showing promise.
Jan and Comet were committed to setting boundaries to create comfort and confidence for both of them and had a very nice in hand session in the main arena after the day settled. Even working tail turns, walking through the face and a fancy side pass. On Sunday Jan gave Comet a bath and he spent some of the day tied to the trailer with Zen. Later in the day they worked at being polite at the In gate and then moved into the trail obstacle field and lunged circles and steeped over logs. And worked at hanging out in hand. Nicely done Jan.
Sunday morning Clair and Rocky Dazzled us all winning both equitation classes and Hunter Under Saddle. Finally Rocky got the be the hunter rather then the hunted.
Pharaoh was over performing with hyper reactivity to any cue and so Clair just settled back and committed to simply ride in class after class with out picking at him or arguing with him until he settled. It was nice to that the judge noticed and he won the open pleasure class. He went on to be brilliant in his hunter classes winning all three and took 3rd of 7 in his jumper class. Nice job you do with those two.
During the jumping Tara on Zen and Judy on Frenchie saddled up and worked over the trail obstacles in the field and had a great time, working over sizable logs, and backing through the L shape and cantering about in an open field. What great experience. You both where awesome.
Thank you
